CAMBODIA-THAILAND-MIGRANT WORKERS
DESCRIPTION: Hundreds of thousands of Cambodian migrant workers have been heading home from Thailand as the two countries seek to keep a ceasefire in armed clashes on their border. Tensions between the countries have escalated due to disputes over pockets of land along their 500 mile border. A clash in July left at least 43 people dead and displaced more than 260,000 in both Southeast Asian nations. While officials negotiate over the issues underlying the conflict, many Cambodians working in Thailand have packed up and fled. The retreat has left many wondering how to get by after they left jobs that enabled them to send money back to their families.

US--PARAMOUNT-TKO
Paramount will become the new home to all UFC events in the US under 7-year deal with TKO Group
SUMMARY: Paramount will become the new home to Ultimate Fighting Championship events across the U.S. next year, through a seven-year agreement announced with TKO Group on Monday. Under the deal, Paramount will exclusively distribute the UFC's full lineup of its 13 marquee numbered events and 30 "Fight Nights" on its streaming platform Paramount+ -- with select numbered events also set to simulcast on CBS -- starting in 2026. It's a shift away from the UFC's existing pay-per-view model, which Paramount and TKO say will allow the mixed martial arts programming reach more consumers nationwide. UFC events currently air on ESPN -- which has offered tiered pricing for fans to view content across the sports network's TV offerings and streaming platform ESPN+ since 2019.

FORD-ELECTRIC VEHICLES
SUMMARY: Ford says it will invest nearly $2 billion to retool a Kentucky plant to produce electric vehicles. The automaker says the goal is to produce EVs that are more affordable, profitable to make and outcompete rival models. Ford's top executive unveiled the new EV strategy at the company's Louisville Assembly Plant on Monday. The factory will be revamped to manufacture electric vehicles after producing gas-powered vehicles for decades. Ford says the first EV vehicle to roll off the assembly line will be a midsize, four-door electric truck that's set to debut in 2027.

FINANCIAL MARKETS
US stocks drift around their record heights as Wall Street braces for an update on inflation
SUMMARY: U.S. stocks are drifting near their record heights as Wall Street waits for an upcoming update on inflation. The S&P 500 was virtually unchanged Monday and flirting with its all-time high set two weeks ago. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 77 points, and the Nasdaq composite fell 0.2% from its own record. The highlight of this week for Wall Street is likely to arrive on Tuesday, when the government will report how bad inflation was across the country in July. A hot reading could discourage the Federal Reserve from delivering the cuts to interest rates that President Donald Trump has been demanding.

ENT--BOX OFFICE
'Weapons' horror film scores a box office victory
SUMMARY: Zach Cregger's highly anticipated horror film, "Weapons," and Disney's sequel comedy, "Freakier Friday," helped prove that horror and humor can thrive at the box office. "Weapons" opened with $42.5 million domestically to take the top spot, and the Disney follow to "Freaky Friday" earned $29 million. A Warner Bros. executive says "Weapons" was the studio's seventh film this year to take the top spot, and the sixth film in a row to debut over $40 million. Paul Dergarabedian of the data firm Comscore says "the top two films could not be more different, and that's what makes this weekend so appealing."
